- I’m typing this while I watch the SuperBowl. I really don’t care who wins—neither my team (the Packers) nor my husband’s (the Seahawks) are playing, nor are any of the teams I root against (New England, Dallas, Oakland)—so I’m just watching for the enjoyment of the game. We don’t really do SuperBowl parties—we’d rather watch the game!
- The good news about our party-less SuperBowl is that we are dodging all the nasty party foods. I am making a treat, though. I call in Packer Food (because, you know, Seahawk food is like sushi and tofu and coffee). It’s a recipe I’ve made before—Bacon, Cheddar and Beer Risotto. It’s cheesy, and creamy, and decadent…and only 8 PointsPlus per serving. Mmmmm.
- A week or so ago, I wrote about trying Ellen Barrett’s Grace and Gusto DVD. Well, today I tried another one—her Power Fusion DVD. It is the same idea as Grace and Gusto, just a different routine. I would say that this one was a bit hard, for me at least. According to my heart rate monitor, I burned 991 calories in 45 minutes. Not bad! I definitely felt it in my legs (I felt Grace and Gusto more in my upper body) and I felt almost like I couldn’t make it up the stairs!
- I’ve taken a liking to detox baths lately. A friend posted this link on Facebook, which I’ve been following. I don’t use essential oils (because I don’t have any around), but I have been using ginger. Frankly, I think I’ll start leaving that out from now because it makes the bath look like muddy pondwater. The real secret is the epson salts and the baking soda. I didn’t think I’d feel a difference immediately, but I do. My plan was to take one tonight, but the Super Bowl is still not over and I must watch Downton Abbey, so the bath will probably have to wait. It’s a bummer, but I do have priorities.

I love baths, I hate our current bathtub but my dream is to own a nice clawfoot tub one day.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a lot of calories in less than one hour- so your hard work was doing something!
ReplyDeleteI love your assessment of Seahawk food. :-)
